It's been awhile

Night One
So it's been a busy time lately. Let's see went to the cubs game and got to sit in the new bleacher seats, the pictures are here. It didn't end up raining but we did have to wait an hour before the game at the Schilling for food, which made us miss opening pitch. But the game was great up until the last inning, when we gave up a 3 run homer to lose the game. That night we checked out Pops downtown, it was a fun place. Oh let's see then was in Mundelin on Sunday and went out to Jake's, what a night, hung with BA Duff and Dave.

Then drove back to Barbara's Monday and went to Pearl Jam on Tuesday with here, great seats for a tall person on the floor, ok not great but good. Section 4 row 3 on the floor. The show was really good but I think Barbara was getting tired as she had been up all day. But we made it all the way through and it was good. Then Wed went with Papak to the show and sat on the right side of the stage slightly closer, another great show with a totally different set, even played some music from Singles. So the shows were awesome overall. Thursday got to see Marissa die which wasn't that great but we'll see fro sure next season of the OC.

Friday I drove back out to the burbs and did some catching up on stuff, then Saturday back out for a walking drink tour of Oak Park with Barbara and the a evening of kicking it with her. Was a total blast. Then Sunday back out to the burbs, and just getting caught up on everything.

Next week is Memorial day so there is the Cubs game and then after that is camping in Indiana at Deer Creek, to see Dave Matthews Band. So busy few weeks, fun all around. enjoy life.

Summer 16" Softball

So this summer, from June 5th till the end of July, I'm gonna play in a Co-ed 16" softball league. I'm not gonna be the star player for sure. I just hope I get a few hits. As softball isn't my strongest sport, but I'm gonna give it a shot. We'll be playing at Pulaski Park.

Neat site

This is a site that Vince posted and I now am gonna use, Yelp.com. Basically it is a site where word of mouth about things are spread. MY specific address is this link but I've only reviewed one place. But what I think I'll do is attach to it, future DinnerClub dinners. So there is a little tech for all of you.

As for the weekend lets see... Well last Monday as I may or may not have said, Barbara and I started doing the South Beach Diet, and it is going pretty well. I was saying that I actually feel better. Now that may be the fact that Spring is here and a lot of other stuff but alas, it is working slowly but surely. About 5 lbs now. about. So anyhow Friday we ended up going downtown for Eileen's birthday and as part of the diet I didn't drink... at a bar no less. So whatever. Then Saturday we went out to the mall for a bit, and then out with some of Barbara's friends for dinner. So overall not much happening this weekend. I did drive up to Libertyville to get my haircut, and Lori the girl who cuts my hair was not having a good day, she had a blister on her thumb the size of a dime. And I got a call about a possible job, but haven't heard back even though I called them today. I'll have to see but it is downtown in the loop on Monroe, so great location. The bad news it is for St. Lukes church or something, but a job is a job. I guess I can design for that, who knows.

So that's about it I'll keep you updated about the job and this week. Next weekend is my first cubs game this year so it better not rain Saturday. And also 4th of July party planning is under way and the date as of now will be the Saturday prior to the 4th, so pencil it down. Invites will be mailed out again. And drinking will follow.

Pearl Jam next week too!!!!

Back with tales to tell

So we made it to KC and back, this past weekend. But lets not get ahead of ourselves. Thursday night Barbara drove out to Wayne to pick me up, so we had dinner and then decided to go see Silent Hill. It wasn't great but was worth seeing. We drove back to Oak Park, then Friday we took the El to Midway, and the flight was only delayed 15 minutes. Tasha picked us up right on time, and we went to the Jazz for dinner, it was as good as i remembered. Barbara tried some crawfish. Took her through the plaza as it was pouring rain, stopped into Tomfoolieries for a few drinks, then over to Lu's to meet Fridge and Sean. Played a game of darts, then over to Tanners, where I ran into Mark and Joe. Back to Fridges, at about 3 Reid stopped by, talked to him and then hit the hay for the night.
Saturday Pat picked us up and we just made it to the wedding just in time. Drove by a liquor store, then back to the hotel, to check in. We got some food at the hotel, the service was so slow. Then Barbara took a short nap and i hung out and had a few drinks. We took a shuttle over to the wedding which was in a loft. The reception was fun, and after headed with Casey over to Tanner's downtown. Bernie came out to meet us, and ended up giving us a ride back to the hotel. Had a few drinks in the room and then went to sleep.
Sunday Tony picked us up and we went out to lunch with him and Michelle and Will. Had Thai food, and made faces at Will. He tiny and super cool. Tony drove us to the airport where we were on a gate delay for 2 hours. So we sat on the floor chatting it up, finally took off just to sit on the runway at midway for a half hour. Took the El home, where we arrived at around 9:30pm. Was a long day, had pizza for dinner.
Monday we started southbeach diet. Headed out to Oak Brook to go shopping. I bought nothing. Over to Wayne for dinner and that's it. Trip complete.
