Cubs Fever

4th of July Weekend

So Cubs tickets went on sale today. And I can say this year went much smoother than last year, IWas only online 2 1/2 hours to get tickets to two games. But ended up with seats to the July 2nd Game at Wrigley Field (Sec239 R29 S102-5) and Bleacher Seats for the Memorial Day Weekend Sunday game. So overall not to bad a setup. Unlike the 8 1/2 hours last year and never even getting through. Although I would have liked to go to opening day but alas sold out for now.

Other than that the only major event was my second harddrive on my computer crashing and lossing 150 music files, luckily I had them all on my iPod so I was able to recover, and then there was the wonder Sony Multi DVD player erasing 120 movie titles that I had to hand type back in. Let's just say yesterday was not a good day.

This weekend off to do who knows what, where. I think Barbara and I are going to go out drinking in River Forest on Saturday but that is up in the air as of now.

So this weekend I ended up at the Auto show in Chicago with Ryan and Niki, was good to get to look at all the cars, I think I'm gonna get the 07 Wrangler but they don't come out till Sept. this year. Then went out for drinks and met BA out later at Jake's.

Fun Sunday. Monday I ended up playing Risk with Dave and Jenny. Dave ended up winning but just cause he got 65 armies right before I could turn in my cards. And he was winning the whole game. I did control Europe for a few turns.

Also meet Flash, if Ryan goes through with it. We'll see maybe he'll make his wife happy and get her the dog

So I wrote my First Applescript

So the below applescript allows my computer to switch to a mirror monitor so that FrontRow can display at the correct resolution on my TV and then when the script is run again turn off the mirroring and return my monitor to the correct resolution. Now I can use FrontRow on my TV and control it through my phone using Salling Clicker. All that and it only took my forever to figure out. Notes: change "Cinema HD" to whatever your main monitor is called

tell application "Finder"

So Tuesday was a hit

Traffic to Oak Park was crazy and then traffic in Oak Park was even crazier. Picked up her Tulips and then walked back to Barbara's place. She liked the flowers and the Fuck Macy's shirt, she also enjoyed the champange glasses and small little box of candy. So overall thumbs up for my attempt at gifts.

She made me an awesome dinner which is a first, not the awesome part but the cooking, I guess except for the mac and chesse she made once. I also got a lego racecar set, to go with Days of Thunder that I had just made her watch. A Darth Vader action figure and a 1977 record of the music from Star Wars. But I also got some bags of candy and a button and even a poem and a song. She really went overboard, but it was all great.

A free Awesome song each day

Just a little info for anyone using iTunes and wanting to hear a free new song each day. This is from KEXP the public station out of Seattle. Really good indie bads and such, check it out, it's free.

This link should launch into iTunes.

The Big V Day

So it is upon us the Valentines day, to some a great holiday to others a day to feel bad. Well I say whatever, I'm not gonna care either way. This weekend was a night of games, such as trivia pursuit, uno, kurplunk, and ants in the pants. All great games. Won at some lost at others. Went out Sunday at Jake's lets just say to much. Other than that just rolling with the punches. I did also go bowling sunday with dave jenn and ba, and beat jenn twice but that capper was Jenny beating everyone the last game with I think a 163. Not to bad, beating supposed league bowlers. Although Dave is in a handicap league.

That's IT

So Jonny is Dead on the OC as I predicted. So that's nice to be right. The Superbowl at Ryan's was super. Although I won no money. And I'm still on the JOB hunt so any help is great. Got my first unemployment check and that was great. Barely enough to breath but better than nothing. Other than that there isn't much to report. Valentines is coming up and I've got a handle on that. Literally a handle. Thinking Barbara and me may go to the auto show Sat even though I never heard from Ryan Papak as he said he would reach out to me about it. And that's that.

Hooked DSL up at my Dad's house finally. I'm moving so fast I can't handle it. So nice. OUT.

So last Weekend?

So on Friday lets see what went down, made a mix cd on itunes and downloaded Lost in Translation soundtrack, check it out it is really good. Then went out with BA, Dave, and Duff to Morgan and then back to Moran's for drinks. It was a late night till 3am ish. Ended up seeing Marshall at Morgans. It was cool chatting with him for awhile. Duff somehow was on my tab and I got screwed into buying him some beers, damn it. Saturday met up with Barbara and headed into the city on the EL, to meet Eileen and a guy she has went out with. Had some dinner at a bar in Old town and that's when Barbara figured out she left her ID at home. This is after I had asked her if she had it and everything. So Tim (Eileen's "friend") drove all of us back to Oak Park to get her ID and then we drove back into the city, this is all during that rain storm. Then stood in line at the bar and stayed out till about 5am, crashed hard and got up the next afternoon to get some lunch with everyone, at the same place we went for dinner. Never heard from Dave like he said he would but that is how it goes when Dave says he'll call. Took the EL back to Oak Park and had some Thai for dinner a her place.

That's the exciting stuff, as for this week called in unemployment and bought a new video game Resident Evil 4 it is really cool check it out if you have the means too. Still trying to get through Spaceballs without falling alseep at night, "comb the desert!"

OC is on tomorrow so that's hot and everything you need to know happens in the last 5 minutes, how fuckin' cheesy of a catch line is that. weak.
