Sliced the Hell out of My Finger

So I was mocking up a brochure this morning and decided to slice right through the side of my index finger. Made it to the kitchen without spilling any blood on the print, thus not ruining the print. Was a pretty good cut too, as it bled for a 1/2 hour and through two Band-aids. It's so fun to hurt yourself for no good reason other than not paying attention.

A Beautiful Lie

30 Seconds to Mars second album just dropped today, and I gotta say I love it. To all you nay sayers, I say shut it. Overall my favorite song is The Kill, but all of them are pretty darn good. I was surprised by the Rolling Stone review, but music is all about opinions.

Other than that I almost ran out of gas coming home from work last night. Made it though. Two gallons to go, when I made it to the gas station. Wonderfully happy to pay frick'n $50 to fill up the tank. So after that I was rewiring my Dad's telephone line to get a phone jack into a room where he doesn't have one, because he finally is getting a DVR with Tivo. So I am fishing the wire up through the wall and get completely done connecting the phone jack a cutting the hole for the box. I go down to the basement to clean up and realized that I've accidently ran the wire around the support column and up into the wall, Brilliant. So I watched some Moonlighting episodes and went to sleep.

KC, the Sun Keeps Coming Up in the Middle of the Night

So spent the last 3 days in Kansas City, for my friend G's wedding. Saw a bunch of people that I hadn't seen it a long time and had several really late evenings. Friday I flew out of O'hare on what I can only describe as the smallest plane ever. Got into town and headed straight to John's Upper Deck, a bar in downtown KC. Then went to good old Waldo Bar and grill off of Wornall. Ended up at Sean's and was up there till about 6am at which time I had to call it quits.

Saturday was the wedding and it was @ 6:30pm so I ended up getting some sleep. Had some Chipotle for lunch and then got dressed for the wedding. Had several drinks at the reception and then went back to Waldo for a few more. Then went on to stay up playing poker till 8am.

Sunday before my flight I went with Sean to his nieces birthday party, and felt just dandy at that. Flew back to good old Chicago in yet a smaller plane, and got to unboard the plane onto the tarmac at O'hare, so that tells you how small it was. Got pick right up and stopped a Super Target for some food on the way home.

Overall KC was good, but man I don't miss the heat there. But I'll be back in October for Fahey's wedding and the temp should be much better.

Some of the Best Free Music

KEXP is a public radio station out of Seattle, WA. that I listen to all the time. Not only do they play great new independent bands, they play music that is just good. KEXP's site will link you to their page to stream the music currently playing on the station, but if you want something portable you can download from their site, artist that have done in studio appearances.

So what does all this mean? That's nothing new, well KEXP is doing a free podcast of music that they play also which is like having a radio station on your ipod. I've gotten the first two podcast and have found a whole bunch of new artist that I enjoy. So check it out, the link to the podcast.

So it Music Tuesday

So my understanding is that Fiona Apple's new CD Extraordinary Machine is going to finally be released. There was a hold up due to the fact that the record label "didn't hear a single" What a bunch of crap, as someone who has heard the new album it is excellant. That being said if you like her music.

Other than that this week is chicago has been ideal, as the weather has finally let up from, ungoddly hot to prefect and tranquil. Gonna be headed to Kansas City for a friends wedding this up coming weekend, so they'll be some snap shots from that trip up here. lates.

The Sunday of Perfection

Today might be the best Sunday, the weather is just right, not to hot not to cool. I drove back today and the car ride was ideal. NO traffic, listening to the Dead and enjoying the day. Ever have the days where you are just like this is just a good day. Although nothing really happened? I don't know just had that feeling today.

The Friday in Chicago

So went downtown Friday, at I must say had a blast. Was up till 4am and wasted, Got so fucking wet in the rain. Was only in the rain for about 2 minutes running back to Dave's place and got soaked. Meet his two neighbors and boy were they interesting, to say the least. Watch part of Sin City and woke up at 8am. sweet. Man it rained hard.
